JACQUELINE ELIAS is the founder and principal at Ceiba Advisory, a boutique consulting practice that assists families and individuals on issues related to long term legacy, governance, multi- generation engagement and grantmaking. Building on 30 years of experience in the nonprofit and philanthropy sectors, Jackie seeks to enable clients to accomplish their short- and long- term goals, while maintaining a pragmatic approach to the advisory process.

Before forming Ceiba Advisory, Jackie was a Managing Director and Senior Philanthropy Advisor at JPMorgan Private Bank. For two decades, Jackie advised individuals and families from around the world on a host of funding and family governance issues. She helped develop and implement individualized giving strategies and assisted clients on matters related to succession, family decision-making, mission development and other long-term planning issues. Jackie also organized regional and international educational forums that offered peer to peer learning opportunities for the most significant philanthropists around the world. Her work took her to more than 15 countries in the Americas, Europe and the Middle East.

Before J.P. Morgan, Jackie was a program officer at The New York Community Trust, one of the largest community foundations in the United States. There she focused on grantmaking related to health services, mental health, and people with disabilities. Previously, she worked as a program associate at The Boston Foundation, focused on giving related to HIV/AIDS, environmental and land use planning, social services and mental health.

Jackie began her career in the nonprofit sector at Ibero-American Action League, a social service organization in Rochester, New York. There she served as a case worker helping low- income families in rural counties, and then managed a supportive housing program for adults with developmental disabilities. 

Jackie earned an M.A. in Urban and Environmental Policy from Tufts University, and a B.A. in Economics and Spanish from Hamilton College.

A native of Guatemala, Jackie has lived in New York most of her life and currently resides there with her husband and daughter.
